Kingston SD10G2/16GB Review by mepster

These cards are not class 10 speed. My camera needs only class 6 to record video. Ordered this card, camera gives message "the recording has been stopped automatically" - this means the buffer has filled, the card cannot keep up. Returned card (Amazon does free exchange). Received second card. Same problem! This time I missed the 30 day Amazon return window because I was on vacation (taking pictures!). Feel ripped off. Have not had trouble with previous Kingston cards, just with this model (twice!). (P.S. Camera works fine with other card (at least class 6).)

Either Kingston has a problem, or Amazon is getting duped by a counterfeit supplier - Amazon you should look into it.

Kingston SD10G2/16GB Review by Anil R. Katakam

I am normally very easy to be pleased and am mostly happy with my purchases. This card at first seemed a very good buy. I own Kingston Flash Cards and SD cards. They are pretty reliable. However, this product seems to have a problem.
It just froze my camera Nikon D5000 during my trip to Niagara Falls (know how precious that trip is). When I hooked it up to my Computer atleast I was able to retrieve my pics. Some other buyers said after they reformatted it on PC the card was fine. Unfortunately, I should have returned this product but though would give it another shot and missed the return deadline with Amazon.
Now after reformatting the card after some 50 shots this card again froze on me. Leaving me dry without a backup card and missed some special occasion.
So unless you do not mind it freezing on you and you have a back card all the time, do not purchase this card.
I hope Kingston is reading my Review. My SanDisk cards never stopped functioning for me.

I use this in my Canon T1i, and it can't keep up with even still shots. I lose 1 out of about 5, because they didn't get recorded to the card for whatever reason. I assume, because it can't write fast enough. In any case, I don't trust this card anymore. I have used an 8GB Class 6 for a year and a half, and it has worked much better. For video, it stops recording after just a minute or two, because it can't keep up, and that isn't even at the highest resolution (I record at 720p). If you're not shooting HD video, or raw + jpg photos, it might work for you. YMMV, but it doesn't meet my needs with my Canon EOS T1i DSLR.
